Trump Reportedly Invites Chinese President Xi Jinping to Inauguration

President-elect Donald Trump has reportedly extended an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend his inauguration on January 20, according to CBS News. The report, based on multiple anonymous sources, indicates that the invitation was made earlier in November, though it remains unclear whether Xi has accepted.

CBS News also suggested that Trump’s team is considering extending invitations to other global leaders, including Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

When approached for comment, Karoline Leavitt, the transition spokesperson and incoming press secretary, stated, “World leaders are lining up to meet with President Trump because they know he will soon return to power and restore peace through American strength around the globe.”

Newsweek was unable to independently verify the CBS report and has reached out to the Trump-Vance transition team for further clarification.

This reported outreach highlights Trump’s apparent intent to emphasize international diplomacy as he prepares to take office, a potential signal of his administration’s foreign policy direction.
